What you'll cover
The CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor course is designed for individuals with responsibility for supervising scaffolding operations, including supervisors, forepersons, chargehands, contracts managers, and site managers. The programme develops the knowledge and management skills required to effectively oversee scaffolding activities, promote safe working practices, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Includes continuous assessment and a multiple-choice examination.
This course is suitable for scaffolding supervisors and forepersons, contracts managers, non-working chargehands, individuals responsible for directing and managing scaffolding teams, and experienced scaffolders seeking to move into supervisory roles.
Learners will cover
- Health & Safety — health and safety legislation, SG4 Safety Guidance, accident reporting and RIDDOR, risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Technical Knowledge — scaffolding terminology, BS EN12811-1 standards, TG20 guidance, design appreciation and temporary works supervision
- Supervisory & Management Skills — estimating, planning and organisation, materials and logistics management, effective supervision and communication, toolbox talks and task briefings, commissioning and handover procedures
- Commercial & Regulatory Awareness — construction regulations and compliance, contract commercial essentials, estimating and surveying principles, employment basics and workforce management
How it's delivered
Classroom-based course delivered over 5 days, including continuous assessment and a multiple-choice examination.
Outcome
Upon successful completion, delegates receive a CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor Certificate and CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor Card. The card is typically valid for 5 years, after which a refresher course is required for renewal.
