The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) course is the industry-standard entry qualification for individuals working in the wind energy sector. Developed by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO), the course provides the essential safety knowledge and practical skills required to work safely in onshore and offshore wind turbine environments.

This course is suitable for wind turbine technicians, renewable energy personnel, maintenance engineers, new entrants to the wind industry, and offshore and onshore wind farm workers.

How it's delivered

Classroom-based course delivered over 5 days with practical and theoretical assessments.

Outcome

Delegates complete both practical and theoretical assessments. Successful candidates receive a GWO Basic Safety Training Certificate, recognised throughout the global wind energy industry. Valid for 2 years — refresher training required before expiry.
