What you'll cover

The Working at Height course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and awareness needed to work safely in situations where a fall could result in injury. The training focuses on hazard identification, risk assessment, fall prevention, safe use of access equipment, and compliance with the Work at Height Regulations.

This course is suitable for construction workers, scaffolders, roofers, maintenance operatives, engineers and technicians, site supervisors and managers, and anyone required to work above ground level.

Learners will cover

  • Working at Height Regulations — legal responsibilities of employers and employees, understanding the Work at Height Regulations, importance of planning and supervision
  • Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment — recognising common height-related hazards, conducting risk assessments, implementing control measures
  • Fall Prevention — safe systems of work, collective and personal protection measures, preventing falls and dropped objects
  • Access Equipment — safe use of ladders, scaffolding awareness, mobile access equipment, inspection of equipment before use
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) — harnesses and lanyards, fall arrest and restraint systems, inspection, maintenance and storage of equipment
  • Emergency Procedures — rescue planning, emergency response procedures, accident reporting and incident management

Classroom-based course delivered over 1 day, including assessment of learning outcomes.

Outcome

Delegates complete an assessment to demonstrate understanding of the course content. Successful candidates receive a Working at Height Certificate.
