Course details

What you'll cover

The NVQ Level 2 in Scaffolding is a work-based qualification that recognises the skills and knowledge scaffolders use every day on site. Rather than a classroom course, you are assessed while you work, building a portfolio of evidence that shows you can erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding safely and to the required standard.

This qualification is suitable for trainee scaffolders and working scaffolders who want to evidence their competence and progress towards the CISRS Scaffolder card.

Learners will cover

  • Health, Safety & Welfare — working safely on site and following safe systems of work
  • Tube & Fitting Scaffolds — erecting, altering and dismantling tube and fitting structures
  • System Scaffolds — erecting, altering and dismantling system scaffolding
  • Working at Height — fall prevention and working in line with SG4
  • Drawings & Instructions — reading drawings, specifications and method statements
  • Inspection & Handover — checking scaffolds and handing over safely
  • Working with Others — communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors and clients

How it's delivered

Work-based assessment through on-site observations, a portfolio of evidence and a professional discussion with an assessor.

Outcome

Successful candidates achieve the NOCN Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Accessing Operations and Rigging (Construction) – Scaffolding, a nationally recognised qualification that supports progression to the CISRS Scaffolder card.
