What you'll cover

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is the leading certification scheme for the UK construction industry. CSCS cards provide evidence that workers have the appropriate training, qualifications, and health and safety knowledge required for their role on construction sites.

CSCS cards are used by labourers, skilled workers, supervisors, managers, apprentices and trainees, and professionally qualified construction personnel. Many construction sites require workers to hold the appropriate CSCS card before being granted access.

For those applying for a Green Labourer Card, acceptable qualifications typically include the CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course or the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. These courses provide fundamental knowledge of workplace hazards, risk assessments, safe working practices, personal protective equipment (PPE), accident prevention, and site safety responsibilities.

Benefits of a CSCS card include demonstrating competence and commitment to safety, meeting site entry requirements on many UK construction projects, supporting industry standards and safe working practices, and providing evidence of your qualifications.
